White out

I spent a couple of hours in a meeting, chaired by an ambassador-level official. My sight swept the ballroom-turned-into-meeting-room. Deep down I did the counting. Only less than 10 percent of meeting attendees were Asians. The rest, they were Caucasians of various nations.

I remembered a similar meeting exactly four years ago, in a half-finished hotel down the tsunami-wrecked town. Around a hundred people packed the room. Yet only 10 percent was ours.

I never realized, how white it is, this thing that I do..

Although I’d like to entertain myself, that color is not a factor..
